The 2016 event saw Darren Tay Wen Jie of Toastmasters in Singapore take the top prize for his speech “Outsmart; Outlast,” which he began by wearing underwear and addressing his experiences with bullying. Additional prizes were presented to Aaron Beverly of Pennsylvania, who earned second place, and Josephine Lee of California, who came in third.
